In the Bible, Matthew 14:6, Jesus answered a question from a disciple with this, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” I believe all mankind is looking for a way, some truth, and what life is all about. God tells us through His Word the solution: it is Jesus.
The Way: We go through life looking for a way for pretty much everything. As the world might tell us, a man must make his own way in the world. The way of a man may seem right at the time, but where does it lead? I believe we must go to the One True Way, Jesus, to find our way in the world and for eternity.
The Truth: A constant search for truth characterizes the age in which we live, and perhaps every age prior to this age. Secular truth leads to secular answers. Spiritual truth leads man to Jesus, the Son of God who lived and died so that man might know the real Truth.
The Life: Life is not just temporal, it is eternal according to Scripture. Jesus said that He is the Life we need, the Life that leads us to God the Heavenly Father.
All of us face the decision to determine our own way, our own truth, and our own life. Or to decide to follow Jesus who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
If you need Jesus in your life today, the Bible says you must repent from your sins (Luke 13:3) and believe on Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord (Romans 10:9 and 10:13)). To repent means to turn away from sin and self, and to turn to Jesus, the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29). Do you want this relationship with Jesus today? Here is a simple prayer that you can pray now:
“Dear God, I am a sinner who is looking for a way, for some truth, and for a life that has meaning. I know that Jesus is the only way for me. Right now, I ask that you forgive me for my sins. I know that Jesus died on the cross to take away my sins and I want to ask Jesus to be Lord of my life right now. Thank you Lord God for saving me and for giving me eternal life today. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.”
Praise the Lord! I would encourage you to seek a Bible-teaching church in your area to attend and share the good news with the pastor about the new life you have in Jesus. This is the beginning of your new life, so ask God to help you to be faithful to your calling as a believer in Christ.
